Hanging with HEX at The Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas
Wow!!! There honestly isn't a whole lot more that we can say other than "wow" in regards to the Dew Tour Championships
that went down at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas this past weekend. Imagine every other Dew Tour stop, then throw in multiple parties, a casino, scantily clad women everywhere, important industry personnel of all kinds, the very best action sports athletes, and you have a recipe for success. That pretty much sums up this last Dew Tour stop in a nutshell. Using the Hard Rock hotel as a home-base for 4 days straight, the very best action sports athletes converged to show the world the current state of skateboarding and BMX. We don't want to bore you with a step by step summary, so instead we made a little video.
Here's the basics of what you need to know: Ryan Decenzo barely edged out Greg Lutzka to take the Street Skate title-then directly after, 50 Cent put on an awesome show right on the course. After Fiddy was done, if you knew what was going on all you had to do was walk out to the pool to catch the last half of Dropkick Murphys set. Our boy Morgan Wade is healthy again and back from injury and although he was riding BMX Park like a man possessed he just barely missed making the finals by 1 spot...oh well, we had fun hanging out! Scotty Cranmer from New Jersey ended up taking the BMX Park title. On the Vert ramp, in BMX, Vince Byron edged out longtime vert sensation Jamie Bestwick (he still won the cup) to claim the win. And, in skate, it was PLG who was once again victorious beating our man Bucky Lasek-just by a little. Bucky still got on the podium with a third place finish (Shaun White was second) and is looking solid heading into next years series. If we forgot anything, or you would like to add your two sense, that's what the comment box is for below. Until next year...
Morgan used our hotel room to store his bike. So, I used him for photo ops like this.
Bucky was skating amazing!!!
