HEX moments from SXSW

March 21, 2012

Last week we jetted down to Austin Texas for SXSW, which if you aren't familiar is one of the biggest music festivals in the continental United States. In all honestly, I have no idea why they call it a festival, SXSW is unlike anything else I have ever seen in the sense that the whole city participates-not just one area fenced off with multiple stages. Everywhere you turn, around every corner you walk, live music is awaiting. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of bodies in the streets doing who knows what. Below is a photo recap of some of our favorite moments, in a few days we will be posting complete recaps from the Vibe House and W Hotel events that we sponsored, which were a massive success. Rolling into TEX-AS...yes gas is that cheap there... The Spotify house looked cool. As the Circle Jerks would say-wild in the streets! On the first night we ran into rapper Noam Chomsky at Bar 512. Then we walked downstairs to watch the Innovative Leisure showcase where the Allah-Las kicked things off. These guys are seriously amazing. Allah-Las drummer performing "Long Journey", download this track now!!! Nick Waterhouse was pretty dope too. The crowd was psyching for Hanni El Khatib, the Innovative Leisure headliner. Hanni. Afterwards we ran into this jam band in the streets. Instrument of the apocalyptic future. Our boy Hanni again, this time at the Dickies House. The Terrace at the W was going off for our party there on Friday. Peeps were trying to break into our fabulous display case. Meanwhile the HEX gear was flowing in the Social room. Here's Chad here from Shiny Toy Guns. Milo Greene all about the Code wallet. Fashion master and insane DJ Drop the Lime was psyching on our goods. Nick Waterhouse and his Tote. Nick's band rocking' HEX as well. Same with Carah (lead singer) and Daniel of the Shiny Toy Guns. Dry the River. Look out for these guys! After the W we headed over to Kiss & Fly club-aka the Vibe House to see the best hip-hop had to offer. The line was nuts. Getting it poppin at the Vibe House. Six Reasons from Watts was dope. Same with the Airplane Boys (great taste in backpacks). HEX giveaways were going down on stage... Lucky winner with new Code wallet. And backstage with the Airplane Boys and their HEX Fleet gear. Mystikal was stoked on our gear as well! Problem. BJ the Chicago Kid. Vibe House host DJ Skee reppin our tan Code wallet. Skeme is the man. The lovely ladies of Rocky Rivera. The always stylish Self Scientific loved his Sonic backpack. My bag is better than yours. Thurz is a super funny and down to earth homey. Phil da Agony of Strong Arm Steady-these guys are legends! Krondon of Strong Arm Steady. It was so sick to chill with the Souls of Mischief! Surprise performance from Wiz Khalifa with his boy Chevy Woods. Then Snoop Dogg entered the building and it went haywire... Snoop's performance was off da hizzy-even if it was at 3:45am... The next day we headed back to the W for our pool party and some DJ sets. The setup where we were posted up in the corner spot doing it! Dillon Francis impressed us greatly with a relatively mellow set for him. The line downstairs to get up to the pool party was crazy. The boys from Flosstradamus-they also played a killer set. Our good friend Siena was having a blast. J Boogie after he finished his DJ set. Sophie was absolutely going nuts on the pool deck. Flight Facilities. Same with Fred Falke and Anna Luna! Fred Falke of Daft Punk. Partner in crime Anna Luna. After the pool party it was back to the Vibe House, where the line was already around the block. Alexander Spit getting it started again at the Vibe House. The control room for the live Vibe House webcast...quite the production. The night honestly belonged to Kendrick Lamar though, this guy is taking over. Bye bye Austin. Thanks for a great time and see you next year!!! Be sure to stay tuned for more exclusive an in-depth content from our parties at the W Hotel and Vibe House...
