On Tour in Saratoga with the Far East Movement

July 28, 2011

It’s not everyday you get to go backstage and watch a concert from the side; especially if it’s a band, group or artist that you truly admire. In fact, its an opportunity many folks dream about but a feat that very few will get to experience within their lifetime. This is why we are still on Cloud 9 from last week, as all the stars seemed to align for us as we met up with our boys the Far East Movement in upstate New York for the “I am Still” music tour. The Tour Bus. Be on the lookout for this bad boy on a freeway near you. FM as they are commonly referred to, have been on a whirlwind journey all across the USA and even overseas the past few months promoting their new album “Free Wired” and touring with the likes of Rick Ross and Lil Wayne amongst others. To say these guys blow up the spot is about right, as all throughout their performance I was reminded again and again why we dig them so much. Prohgress front and center. Mr. J-Splif doing it. DJ Virman on the cuts. Playing a shortened set I was worried that I wouldn’t get to hear everything I was hoping for, but boy was I wrong. The couple jams that I did miss out on were surely made up for by the boy’s sheer performance and entertainment antics. At one point Kev Nish was jamming on the guitar while Prohgress filled in at stage center and rocked the house. Then I noticed a cool and collected J-Splif mixing it up with DJ Virman in between sets of him going back and forth, all around just absolutely berserk and killing it. Simply said, these guys just plain amazed me. In all honesty, I don’t know what I would’ve done if they had played a full set? It definitely would’ve been system overload and I probably wouldn’t be sitting here finger pecking today. Kev Nish forever entertaining. "Who wants a free t-shirt" says Prohgress. Anyhow, that’s enough from me for now. What I really wanted to tell you guys was that FM is now a part of the HEX family and we couldn’t be more excited for what the future has in store. Look for exclusive FM color ways and styles coming your way soon, and stay tuned as we hit some more venues and destinations with our new homeys. If you don’t believe us and need proof that we actually know these guys, CHECK THIS! From left to right: DJ Virman, J-Splif, Kev Nish and Prohgress
