Overall: Simple but practical design that works well. Would definitely buy again and would recommend to anyone in school or a professional setting. Organization and storage: Has one main large compartment that also has the laptop sleeve which is not suspended, so i would recommend still using a laptop cover or case or stand alone sleeve for added protection if you will be throwing this bag around. Right in front of the laptop sleeve is the admin compartment which is actually useful not just an after thought. I use the dedicated pen holders for my pens and highlighter but also one of larger compartments for a pen case. There is also a tablet sleeve/document sleeve that is very useful. Otherwise the main compartment is very roomy and can hold a lot of books/daily gear that you use. It is a top loader but because the main compartment opens halfway and the bag maintains it shape i can pack it like a clamshell pack and use every bit of space without the bag getting distorted. I typically carry my 13 inch laptop in separate sleeve, pens, pen case, 3 books/notebooks, one tech pouch for cables, usb powerbank and charger and noise cancelling headphones stored in its own dedicated hard shell case, so as you can see it can carry a lot but it does not look fa or overloaded. I still have some room to carry a jacket or hoodie. On either side there are 2 water bottle holders that made of the same material but still large enough for any regular water bottle. It will fit a smart water bottle easily and an umbrella but it is probably too small for a Nalgene water bottle. The front pocket is perfectly sized, it has a small bulge. I fit a small note pad, my wireless earbuds, work ID and some snacks. All this does not eat away at the space in the main compartment so i still have a lot of space, How HEX managed to design this so i can store lots of stuff but it still looks very streamlined is some awesome black magic and it works well. Aesthetics: Looks awesome, the matrix weave or whatever is called is very unique but also allows the bag to have a low profile so it can be used in a professional setting as well. The inner liner is white with a black design that is very cool looking but adds brightness to the inside of the bag so you can find your smaller items easily. Overall it has a nice and streamlined profile with minimal branding, which is definitely a positive. Durability: i have no major issues with the bag. Holds up well for every day carry. I can see the matrix weave design (which is kind of like a mesh) getting stuck or snagged on something and getting pulled, but so far this hasnt happened to me. The zipper pulls are excellent and the zippers work like butter (super smooth). The front compartment is exposed and does not have a flap like the main compartment so it is aqua guarded which is a nice touch. Unless you are particularly rough with your things, this pack should last a while. I would definitely limit this use to city daily carry. It is definitely not for hiking or serious traveling. The straps are sturdy and well cushioned and so it is very comfortable. Lastly, the back side slot designed to be slipped through the handle of a suitcase is essentially useless to me (hence the docked star). Using this feature would mean you have to turn the back on its side. I really dont see why this couldnt have been designed so that you can just slide it upright. Like i said though, this is an excellent bag. If you need an EDC bag for the city/tech/school/work. Look no further than this. The best feature of this bag lies in its overall simplicity.
