Wear it like a sling, use it like a backpack. The Ranger Sling XL is the newest member of the popular Ranger Sling family. We listened to you – and developed this bag from the ground up. It’s a perfect size. Larger than a traditional sling, and smaller than a backpack. One of the key features of the Sling XL is that it has a padded laptop compartment that accommodates a 13” Macbook or similar laptop. This is a huge deal for a bag with such a small footprint!
We’ve also incorporated our patented Clamshell zipper system, which allows for multiple access zones depending on preference. There is a generous organizer on the outside, along with our signature faux-fur-lined phone pocket. Inside are EVA padded dividers which can be configured to fit each shooter’s needs.
This Sling holds a ton. Use it for multiple bodies, or multiple lenses, drones, and more. Even space for a change of clothes can be worked into the divider layout. The back is padded airmesh for breathability and there are cinch straps on the bottom for a tripod or jacket.
All of these features are wrapped up in a water-resistant, ballistic nylon complete with a hideaway rainfly for even more weather protection. We are super proud of this bag and believe it is the gold standard of Slings.

Hexbrand described the bag perfectly on their site. Excellent material, excellent protection for electronics. I have 2 of these. White and black camo. I simply adore the storage and look. Well worth the money.
I love this bag, it’s got a good number of padding options and it’s stylish, but the strap … it needs work. The clip is WAY to easy to engage and disengage, which really stinks because it’s in the middle of the bag/somewhat centered on the bag (depending on how you’ve tightened the straps), so I accidentally will grab it to readjust the bag while I walk, and I’ve had the bag fall straight to the floor with a HUGE thud. Fortunately it’s pretty padded and sturdy, but why, oh why is this little plastic clip such a hazard?? It should have a locking feature at least, since cameras aren’t exactly cheap! I hope I’m not the only one who tends to walk with my hand holding the bag’s strap… which on this bag seems extremely dangerous. I’m just glad I was kneeling on the sidewalk, not crossing the street or leaning over a stair or river. I would honestly give this bag 5 stars if the strap was better suited to the wonderful bag and its possessions.
This is my second HEX camera bag. I bought this as a smaller alternative to the Black Back Loader v2. I also wanted a different look, but with similar quality, material and features. It does an excellent job! I really recommend this DSLR bag!
