Wear it like a sling, use it like a backpack. The Ranger Sling XL is the newest member of the popular Ranger Sling family. We listened to you – and developed this bag from the ground up. It’s a perfect size. Larger than a traditional sling, and smaller than a backpack. One of the key features of the Sling XL is that it has a padded laptop compartment that accommodates a 13” Macbook or similar laptop. This is a huge deal for a bag with such a small footprint!
We’ve also incorporated our patented Clamshell zipper system, which allows for multiple access zones depending on preference. There is a generous organizer on the outside, along with our signature faux-fur-lined phone pocket. Inside are EVA padded dividers which can be configured to fit each shooter’s needs.
This Sling holds a ton. Use it for multiple bodies, or multiple lenses, drones, and more. Even space for a change of clothes can be worked into the divider layout. The back is padded airmesh for breathability and there are cinch straps on the bottom for a tripod or jacket.
All of these features are wrapped up in a water-resistant, ballistic nylon complete with a hideaway rainfly for even more weather protection. We are super proud of this bag and believe it is the gold standard of Slings.

"I love how I'm able to easily access my camera using the Sling on the go, especially when a full lens set up isn’t needed."

I have purchased many bags and slings to accommodate my photography carry needs. HEX sling has been a delight to use everyday. The Ranger DSLR Sling XL is big and has many storage compartments that suits my needs. The sling fits my Sony A7r, A9, 5 lenses detached, and other cleaning accessories with extra batteries and chargers. The exterior has many storage pockets and I tend to forget those, because they are seamlessly integrated onto the front side of the sling. As far as the cons go; the only con that I have experienced is that the fabric threads tend to unravel and jam the zipper once in a while. I have trimmed some fabric thread ends to prevent that but they unravel during everyday use. Overall, I would recommend this sling to anyone looking for a large supplementary storage solution to accompany your backpack.

I love the XL sling. Can carry multiple lens if I have to plus have room for other camera accessories. The only thing I wish is the water bottle holder was mesh netting instead of the one it comes with.
This is my second hex product; I rock a sneaker backpack daily (really wish they would make that again I need a backup). This bag has the hex quality expected but there are a few places the zipper does some crazy curves and I have some concern after prolonged use the zipper will stop working. I don’t carry a ton of camera equipment but I love the design of hex bags because you don’t have to use it for it’s specified use. I don’t carry extra sneakers everywhere I go but that compartment is great for a couple nalgenes or a six pack. I figure I’ll find a use beyond camera equipment for this bag.
I was looking for a bag for the 120-300 Sigma sports lens. This bag is perfect with the EF-Rf adapter attached. Easy to access the lens. I wish it were a little bigger so I could keep the camera attached but that’s the only drawback.
